Will a remote car starters work alright in a 2002 toyota echo?

I wanted to get one for my boyfriend's birthday but I don't know too much about cars. Does anyone have experience with them? I'm not sure if they only work for specific models and I want to be in the know before I buy one.

You can put in a remote start on any Fuel Injected automatic car.
As long as it is not a stick it will work fine.
Have the work done by somebody so no damage happens, Electrical can be trouble.
